How many minutes were you going for? My initial thoughts were for 2min at least, but after 1h (90 photos) we gave up (cold)!

Thanks to everyone for sharing so many stunning photos in this thread. I see most owners of this lens are using full frame bodies. Anyone shooting through this lens w/1.3 crop bodies? Couple of DSLRs, number of lenses and other stuff... plenty short on talent.

In fact, I developed the tendency to stitch my shots now. Instead of trying to capture everything with 1 exposure, I see if I can use 2 or more. The difference with the FOV between a FF and 1.3x crop isn't that great. You lose maybe total of less than 10% of the frame. You can easily make that up by stepping back a bit or taking multiple exposures and to stitch them later. Thanks for the feedback TooMany. How much time does stitching add to the PP though? (I've never gotten into stitching photos together for panos or anything) Couple of DSLRs, number of lenses and other stuff... plenty short on talent.

How much time does stitching add to the PP though? (I've never gotten into stitching photos together for panos or anything) All the stitching is done by Photoshop. I used CS5. Just makes sure you have at least 4gb of computer memory. Most of the issues with stitching shots come from rather or not you have excessive parallax distortions. This is the result of shooting handheld and only pivoting your body to cover the subject from left to right. You should minimize the pivoting angle of your body by capturing more exposures as you move from left to right. Instead of using 2 exposures to capture the entire scene. Try 3. That gives more image data for the stitching software to work on. Another way is to shooting in portrait mode. Obviously, you would need to capture more frames here since each shot does not cover as wide. Try not to frame each frame too tight since you will have to allow some cropping when photoshop is done stitching the shots. There are several options with Photoshop as to how you want to stitch the shots. Some can produce unpredictable results if your exposures have a lot of parallax distortions (edge of the image may get too stretched out because the software is trying to correct the perspective). Then, you should try another method of stitching. Once you get the hang of it, you would never feel not wide enough.
Another one that I used 3 exposures to stitch the shot. One Imaging Photography

I'll have to give this a try, very soon. Couple of DSLRs, number of lenses and other stuff... plenty short on talent.
