Meet Eli Vom Heidelberger Schloss... "El" for short. She's 13 weeks.

We got her last week.. but with change of diet, etc, she's had diharia (fixed now).. and is starting to put some weight on. Her dam and sire compete in schutzhund.. so we may take her that way. We've had border collies for the past 30 years or so. .. so this is a bit of a change. (My S.O. use to breed the german bloodlines for law enforcement.. but it's been a long time). Anyway, just got a few shots of the little wolfie dog. (she reminds me of a wolf!!)

Oh, pix are with her favorite toy. .. a lamb that squeeks.

Great looking pup! Nice name, too. Guess it'd be a good excuse to take her for a stroll down the Hauptstraße and up to the castle :-)

Thanks scot and Kat. :)

She came with that name. I would have named her something like "Midnight" or "Wolfie".. LOL... or "C'mere".

She just got back from a visit to the vet (today). Her weight & hair coat should start looking better in the coming weeks. I'll take shots each week.. but (don't worry).. I'll only post once a month or so as she grows up. heh heh.

Beautiful pup. Have the ears been "cropped"?

Thanks engsetr, Jazzy, Cyclop & Mom/fur. Cyclop - no, her ears are natural.. so far. (speaking of the flapped over tip on her left ear). The vet said to 'flip it foreward and glue the hair' .. to help prevent the cartilage from growing 'bent back'. We may try it.. though we're not real worried about it. ... from what others have suggested, the ears have some growing yet to do. .. maybe the tip will straighten on its own.

Beautiful pup. The boy and I are thinking of adopting a dog when we move into a new place, and we're stuck between a golden retreiver (what he wants) and a german shepherd (what I want). I'm hoping I'll win out :D

Great Looking Pup!!!!! Ours Turned 11 weeks Today.
He has started his path to Schutzhund already. If your going to do it don't wait to long. There are already things you can do to make training easier for her when she gets older.
Find a good club in your area.
Check the web for united schutzhund of America, or working dogs of America. Make sure you visit few and find one that you and your pup will like

Thanks John and Stefan. .. and Thanks Stefan for the info. My SO is doing a search now to see if there are any clubs closer than where we bought her. (2+ hrs away). If there are none, the breeder has weekend clinics for owner & dog. (you pay a minimal annual fee.. and show up as many weekends throughout the year as you can). .. but like I said, it's 2 hrs away.. so it would be more convenient to find one closer.
