I saw the Jalapeno peppers I hung to dry, and the sun light shining through the window, and I thought that would make a great photo. So I went and grabbed my camera, but I was too lazy to change the lens, (the Sigma 70-300 was attached). I think I will try this subject again, as this was first attempt at still life, and I think there is room for improvement. Enjoy:

The first one is quite nice. Love the colors. I do not think you have correctly identified the subject matter. Those look like cayenne (the long ones) and habenaro (the roundish ones).

They are, indeed, cayenne and habanero. Great shot on the first, the rest are OOF.

+1 No Jalapeno's there. Good shot though!! Been thinking of doing something like that myself!

Granted, there are some habanero peppers, but I planted the pepper plants in my garden and picked them myself: trust me, the long red peppers are jalapeno, but there are also some Thai Dragons peppers, which look exactly the same as jalapenos (but are super hot): green when they are unripe, red when they have fully ripened, although they can be eaten at either stage. When I picked the peppers for drying, they were all green, and have slowly changed colour in the three/four weeks that they have been drying.

Thanks for all the comments; I think I will try this again, maybe with a tripod, or a different lens. :)

BigC- Nice job. I grow my own peppers as well. About 10 varieties. After you dry them, are you grinding them?

I'm most likely going to grind them into a powder, but I haven't decided yet. Another possibility is to chop them up and make dried chili flakes, which are great on spaghetti, chili, and garlic bread. :)
