This place is running out of money and endangered, mostly due to it's location in Bedford, Virginia. Bedford had a population of about 3,200 at the time of the invasion and lost 19 sons. Because the community proportionally suffered the nation’s severest on D-day, Congress authorized construction of the memorial there. Right reason, but not very cost-effective....I hope they find a way to keep it open. The memorial is very moving and well done.

Really interesting place. I sure hope they raise the money they need to keep things up and running.

A sobering place to say the very least, I need to get back out there soon.

Nice pics, thank you for taking your kids there and teaching them about the great sacrifices made by this country's service men and women.

To all the service men and women out there, THANK YOU!

Thanks everyone - yeah it's really I nice memorial. Too bad it's put in a place that is just too out of the way for most.
