White Box lens at BH PhotoVideo

I was looking at the 24-105 L on B&H's web site. There is a lens with the following description "Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Autofocus Lens " that is $1199 and another with the following description "EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Autofocus Lens (White Box)" for $1149.

What is the difference. By the way, they are both USA models, the imported models were $50 less for each type.

I'm presuming the white boxed version was in a kit of some sort and the store has split them.

Yup, my understanding is that the white box is one that originally came with a kit.

The white box is a kit lens.

When you buy a 5DII or a 5D with the kit 24-105 it comes in a white box
