What is your lens line up looking like now? What are you looking to get out of the upgrade?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I have the T1i and I'm seriously thinking of selling it and going to a 7d...wife's gonna kill me :)

as for your problem, I guess it would depend on what you are shooting as well...

Unless you are feeling limited by your body, I'd say go for the lens. A lens is usually the better choice. Of course, it depends on what lenses you already have and what you are hoping to achieve with a new body.

i shoot thing like any other person that has no idea what they like. i shoot anything in my view:D.
but i seem to be liking landscaping and little people snap shots.
i like some nature in the mix. i have the 70-200 "L' and looking for the 24-105L , i have the sigma 10-20 uwa. to cover my lanscaping needs for now.
i want something closer to professional equipment just for the heck of it. :p
so please guide me

T1i is an incredible camera...Do NOT get rid of it for a 50d. I think you'll find there are far more similarities than discrepancies. The 7d I'm not sure is even worth the upgrade, and concurrently, the loss you'll take on the sale of T1i.

Definitely upgrade the glass. It'll be here through your next 6 bodies:)

Again, T1i is a great cam...I think it offers 95+% of what it's bigger brothers do.

uhmm if you are using an APC-C sensor camera, get yourself a 17-55 instead.

Just to push you more....go for the lens, it wouldn't be a worthy upgrade from the T1i to the 50D.

You'll be happier with the nice glass

If you like landscape I would say buying a used FF would be the best choice IMO.

I was not that impressed with the T1i honestly.

You get fast glass that is sharp and can perform in low light. I believe the 24-105 is at f4 while the 17-55 is at f2.8. Its good for landscape and an excellent portrait lens.

I'd go with the L lens. However, the 17-55 is also something to consider.
