So I recently bought a 430EX II and want to use this wirelessly as i am shooting alot of outdoor mountain biking and other sports. I have also been trying to do more people shots (portraits, etc) and think off camera flash would defiantly help.
I have narrowed it down to buying a new 580 EX II or else getting another new 430 EXII and buying a set of Elinchrom skyport triggers(used) they will both cost me the same either way i go so im kind of stuck.

However the problem with the skyports is i would not be able to use one flash on camera and one off if i have 430's(no PC cord input on the 430), would it be beneficial to buy just the skyports to run one off camera and then save up until i can afford a 580?
Or the same person that is selling the skyports has a used 580 EX I for sale as well which is a possibility but im not to keen on buying a used flash.
Any help/advice would be helpful!
Thanks
Kevin

Used flashes are fine, just make sure it fires. I have 20+ year old vivitars. Secondly, get the radio triggers, you can get an adapter from www.flashzebra.com (external link) to the 430ex work with triggers. But most important to consider, if you are using this kind of trigger dont spend too much on newer canon speedlites in that you can buy several vivitars or YN manual control flashes for the cost of 1 430exII. Buying a canon speedlite as your first and only flash is great, but extra flashes with manual triggers it doesnt make sense to buy the additional technology that you cant access using the triggers.

Totally didnt think about not being able to use E-TTL with the skyport's. The kit he is selling comes with 2 cables from flashzebra for the speedlights so im covered already there.

Only the new Pocket wizards and the radio poppers (not jrx) allow you to use ettl with radio triggers.
