I tried to avoid shooting flat looking photo, so I decided to include the roof. Does it work or not? How do I crop this better (I hate the post on the right side though...)

I think without that my eye would be drawn right to the flag and it would have a bigger impact. As it is now the light pole grabs my attention most. I tried a tighter crop on just the flag, and leaving out the light pole and I think it looks much better. But you don't have image editing on so I can't post it.

Oct 20, 2009 20:47 | #7 Well it is most definitely not an image of a flag. It is an image of a scene/landscape that happens to have a flag. It nice enough but would have looked a lot better a few hours later at sunset. Teddy Smith, SOC

It is way too small and the photo had no simplicity but instead was too distracting with all the stuff around it. Thanks, but I already got the point. That is why I acknolwedged the crop made by Pitrow.....Thanks for the response anyway. From pitrow cropping, I find the lamp posts leading you into the main subject....

Snydremark my very own Lightrules moment More info | Personally, the overhang at the top makes me feel crowded, like I should be ducking or something. Maybe next time shoot from just outside the structure? - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife
