Is it the same or better than the LCD on the 5DII?

I haven't done a side by side, but my impression is that they are just about the same, or at least similar enough that I haven't noticed anything special on the MKIV. I think the MKIV has the glass covering as opposed to the plastic one which was something newly introduced with the 7D I think...

Are you a Millionaire?

Only in personality.

Or if they discover oil under my house rather then under my car.

Hey Nick, where are the kitty pics?

Hopefully that Tabby that you tested your 7D out on, will be a BIT more enthusiastic for the 1D Mark IV.

As I mentioned, the MKIV is perhaps a stop better than the MKIII.
Make sure to check out the links, which contain MKIII equivalent size files. (3888px on the long side)

I think you'll find that ISO3200 is a walk in the park and ISO6400 is usable. At ISO12800, you can see it starts to break down a bit. I wouldn't use ISO25600 for anything serious...and forget about 51200 and 102400!

She was camera shy last night.
I'll try to snap a few tonight if I get a chance.

Nick: What file sizes are you getting on RAW & Jpeg? I am seeing some rather big sizes and even the resizing for the web is coming out double what my MKIIn files were.....

I'll have to check when I get home.
I shoot RAW only.
Resizing to 10MP (3888px on the long side) and saving as JPEG in PS CS4 with quality of 10, I get anywhere from 2.5MB to 3.5MB on average for ISO 6400-12800 shots. YMMV depending on what's actually in the frame.

If you are talking about the RAW files on the CF card, I figure around 20-25MB? I would had to check when I get home.

However comparing to what you had, that's 8MP vs. 16MP. That's a pretty big leap in resolution so if you are comparing full sized JPEGS, then it would make sense that it's double of what you had before no?

Sounds good, Nick.

Looking forward to seeing them when you get the chance.

25 Meg is what I am getting on RAW....guess I never thought about the resolution change versus file size. Good point.

The 5TB NAS I set up suddenly seems like a good idea now....
