Only if it's about my old pal Nicky. ;)

Yeah, I ventured into the title fairy thread and was zapped by the avatar demons.

Yes, I applied my usual NR via Neat Image. Still looking to tweak it. I am not completely happy with the results I am getting.

What can I say? This one likes to pose for the camera!:D

Damn ISO 12500 is simply amazing.

Can you do a few in the 8000 to 10000 range?

^ Nicely done Nick. The noise reduction looks pretty good on my monitor.

I'll try to put something together. Probably not tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm trying to play around with Nik dFine, integrating that within my NR workflow. It seems to do a better job at getting rid of color blotches (also does a decent job of getting rid of banding on 5DMKII files which is the reason why I bought it to begin with) so I figured why not tinker with it a little bit. I think I am getting better results with this than NeatImage which is an older version. Need to update it...

The first cat pic almost just looks like a floating cat head!!! At least on this terrible, uncalibrated laptop I'm on at work.

No it's not....my Canon copy is just as sharp as the Nikon variant. It's sharp wide open right through the aperture range and focal range. It's an excellent optic.
The only optical defect that mine shows is a slight ponchaunt for a bit of CA. At 24mm it's almost rectilinear too, one of the best 24mm offerings in a zoom lens. The Nikon version curves it's lines a lot more than the Canon. Betwwen very good copies of both the Canon and Nikon, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference optically. I'm currently using 21mp and it's resolving very well, even wide open.

Ok and thats your opinion I guess. MTF charts say other wise. And as I have shot with both and have a Nikon 24-70 at work and own a great copy canon 24-70 I still think the nikon version is sharper. Prove me wrong?
