LOL...very helpful advice when there are 5300+ posts in the thread (so far).
Still, I'd expect someone who bought a 1DMk IV to be able to find a way to get the exposure and depth of field they want. (Then again, it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that some people would buy a 1D as their very first camera body - certainly many have admitted to the frustration of figuring out their 7D and 5DMk II cameras bought as their first non point & shoot camera).
As a (digital) "newbie", I have to ask...would a 1DMk IV have a different combination of ideal "birding" settings than any other camera body? (with normal daylight ISO)? Where does the model number of a body come into play when trying to get a proper exposure???? What am I missing? I've been using light meters for the better part of 6 decades, but never saw anything that had any relevance on a meter to the type of camera body or the size of a sensor (or size of film used)......Of course since digital is "new" to me, I'm afraid I'm missing something really big here1
