If you are not cropping you can really push it to past 10,000 iso, as long as you have good exposure.

Kurt,

I checked out your work (indoor soccer) at biglenses.com and I'm impressed ! Not a lot of noise visible on the high ISO (10000~12800) shots. Could you give any tips regarding your workflow ?

Really liking this shot! What lens did you use?

Also your name...wouldn't happen to relate to Heckler & Koch would it? I have a couple myself and looking to get another.

I really need to get my 1DIV out. Haven't shot in a while.

Hey Martino,
I'm a Lightroom guy. I bounce back from LR and PS, but all my post is mostly LR unless I want to really manipulate things. I have a lot of actions or pre sets I use and fine tune from there.
I download from my CF cards right into LR. I use a sharpening and NR preset as they download. Then I go through and delete the "crappy" shots. I set my crop to 8x10 and use auto snyc to speed things up. Then I hunt for the best and use the star ratings. From there I tinker until I'm all done. Depending on the event, depends on how much time I spend in my PP.
Good luck.. The forums are loaded with some great tips and such. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
Kurt
