^I'm loving the mullet look and the shot above it.

Just got mine this afternoon. I can't wait to turn it loose on some unsuspecting Racing Drivers at the weekend :D

Geoff,

I thought you'd taken the plunge the other way and gone to the 7D after the 1D... Been tempted back up?

Anyway, enjoy the new one and I'm sure we'll be seeing some of Croft, etc. as proof :)

I've had the 7D about 18 months now....the MKIV was added to the collection this week. I still have the MKIIN which is fast becoming my Nephew's "training" camera and he's doing rather well with it :D

I should be out with the new beast this weekend. It's a toss-up between RAF Waddington or Oulton Park on Saturday.....to be decided by the weather forecast ;)

I'm just setting out for my local Morrisons to get my ticket for Saturday at Waddington so I might bump into you if you go. :)

At least the 1D is weatherpoof whichever venue you pick but the lenshoods don't drain out as fast when you're looking at the sky ;)

Andy

Given that the conditions were good for a f/stop of 16, I'm not surprised :)

(It was just a little bit windy out!)

LOL - I see you keep your Bichon Frise cut down a little closer than mine. Still a nice shot none-the-less.

Here is mine. In the middle of winter I don't keep her cut down quite so short.

I don't own a 1D Mk IV , but will share this pic of the dog and my daughter anyway ~ call me bad :)

I had a chance to "test drive" a 1D IV today for about 5 minutes at a local rental shop.

Didn't cost me anything to put a CF card in, attach my Tamron 90mm f/2.8 1:1 macro lens, and quickly take a few shots through an open door, while still in the office of the rental company. (Naturally they wouldn't allow me to step outside, so I had to lay on my stomach on the office floor to shoot in the doorway.

Heck it was better than nothing.

Not the best subject matter, but for the time I was allotted, I can't complain.

Of course this was my first time using the 1D Mk IV, and while not the most scientific, or "precise" test, I must say, I am very pleased with the images. S.O.O.C. converted from RAW to JPEG via FastStone Image viewer.

Now I know you can't make an important decision such as which camera to buy on one measly 5 minute test, but I am definitely leaning strongly in the 1D Mk IV's direction.

The camera feels INCREDIBLE in the hand, the ergonomics, the sturdiness...very impressive beast!!

Thanks.

Sweet place to have lunch.

Is that near the place where either Germaine's, or Paradise Cove have their luaus?
