That series of shots has been floating around for quite a while. Might be just poor technique or wrong settings.

Those shots were taken back in October, could they have been a pre-production model ?

Not only that but I question the ability of this guy, he said he didn't have a tripod.....I don't think he's familiar with action photography.

Wouldn't worry about it too much. I did shoot with a preproduction body for a little bit. 29 out of 30 shots were dead on. This was center point only, fast walk towards the subject. Can't release due to NDA. The 30th frame was SLIGHTLY blurry.

BUT, that's my experience. Your mileage may vary.

He had a dark subject with a bright background and tried "tracking with Ai-servo and full AF", something I wouldn't expect 100% success with. I don't really know any sports or bird photographer who uses ROF anyway, I very seldom do. I would still wait for some more serious reports, not worry about a 1-minute "test" from a photo expo using a pre-production camera.

You're talking to the wrong fella here Rob! My g/f spent the night watching that show. You won't catch me watching it ever! :p

Go on Adam you should let your feminine side come out every now and again :D

n.b. for the Yanks - Strictly Come Dancing is the same as your Dancing with the Stars.

Now to make this post on topic - I will be doing some dance photography with the Mk IV.

I like ROF for bird in flight but my mk2 made a better job of it than mk mk3, the mk3 was very hit and miss but bang on with centre point.

Yes, birds in flight may be the exception, but in my experience it really only works for birds againt a clean sky. Add a messy background of trees or even worse glittering water and my success rate drops right through the floor.

I have bought many many things off digital rev, i recall getting the 40D shipped to UK pretty well one of the first to hold one. Although I don't think they are as good as they were a year ago, but they will have stock and it will get sent out pretty soon if it says so.

I note though it is not on the uk price one. that is a pretty good price to..

HMM just noticed something I have never seen before on Digital Rev, it is a bidding auction, they always have a buy me now auctions, interesting, maybe they playing this time on a gamble

Digital Rev is a very well respected ebay store in the UK and Australia. Many people use them - grey imports are usually a lot cheaper than the high prices we have to put up with.

Well it definitely looks like some in the UK & USA will have theirs next week.

I don't get my redundancy cheque until the first week of Feb, so I'll be reading all the reports on it & keeping fingers crossed it's as good as it looks like it's going to be.

Mk IV and 300 2.8 IS here we come. Have to decide on the 100 2.8L IS Macro of 135L as well. My boys are getting me the CP-E4 power pack for Xmas as I've been a good boy this year:lol:

You will be happy with either the 135mm or new 100mm 'L' macro ... I have both. If you don't need the very fast speed of the 135mm I'd urge the 100mm as it is simply stunning, light as a feather and the IS is unimaginable ... all just like the adverts say!
