Folks, the political comments have been deleted.

I'm not sure why anyone would think political comments are helpful in a thread about the Mk IV. Regardless of your feelings on that, political comments are against the rules here.

+1 I am so hoping this camera performs in real life like everyone here is hoping! If it does it will be a winner and I think allot of people will be standing in line to get one. I'll probably be one of them!

Sweet.
Another preliminary observation - ISO 6400 looks like 3200 on the 5D2. 12800 looks like 6400 on the 5D2, and 25600 looks like 12800 on the 5D2, but without the banding.

Looking good.

It looks like Canon was shipping out the pr-production Mark IV this december as I see more and more samples from it. :(

Depending on what the RAW files look like processed with no NR, Canon may have been conservative when they claimed only one stop better RAW ISO than the 1D Mark III and 2 stops better JPG ISO.

Now, what possible reason could Canon have for not "overstating" things? I mean, it's not like they've had any former claims bite them in the collective keester, right? ;)

Dayum! Those high ISOs from 6400 and up are pretty damn good. Now, I'm all confused. 1D MK IV or 1Ds MK IV?

Hehe! I would love both but, I barely shoot lowlight. FF is where it's at for me. If the next 1Ds is capable like the 5D MK II in lowlight, I'm in line! :)

From my understaind 1D is more of a sports camera and the 1Ds is more of a studio camera.

I do know that the 1D is a sports camera. I used to own a 1D MK III and after using it, I really didn't need it. I'm sticking to FF from now on since most of my shooting is landscapes. If I ever decide to go into birding, the 1D MK IV would be the perfect choice. :)
