Anyone pre-ordered yet from them?

I think I'll wait for my local shops to get it and then trade-in the Mark III.

I just this second got the email about it, as much as I want one I don't think I can justify the cost :(

50% more than the launch price of the Mark III. I know there is a recession on but that's a tad much!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the price tag was quite high. I will stick with my MK III for a while me thinks.

Hopefully if we all do the same they'll halve the price :D

holy #!@$ that's steep. Overall I'm quite underwhelmed by the 1d4 spec - suppose we'll have to see how it performs, but at that price it won't be me doing the testing :-)

bannedPermanent ban

$4999 in the US for the new body.

£4450 in the UK.

That's just mental. It should be closer to £3200.

As a friend pointed out, £50 more gets you a 1D III AND a 5D II over here.

Well, I'm hoping some people make the leap to the 4...I want to get my hands on all those second hand mkIIIs out there.

Just looking at the specs now. The price is too steep for me, would rather a 1Ds 3 for that :)

Pretty sure I paid 3k for my 1d the same month they were available (early june 07?). Not sure it's worth the extra 1500...

Nope, I dont think the dual DIGIC 4 and full HD...which I'd never use...justify the massive price hike.

I just dont see much difference in useful spec to me. I'll wait for a secondhand mkIII from the jessops crowd who'll flock to upgrade.

A 50% markup is a joke! I paid £2,600 for my Mark III a few months after release. I'm hoping the IV dips below £4k. It'd better!
