Well, the word is out about the 1D Mark IV. Any of you sports guys who were reluctant to get the 1D III going to jump to the IV ASAP?

I'm almost 100% on the MkIV. I've needed a backupbody for quite a while, and have been lucky to not have any issues yet with my MkIIN. And I shoot indoors a lot, so I'm hoping for a nice improvement in those shots. I'll wait for a few reviews to come in first though.

I feel the same as Dave I will wait and see for real life reviews before making the jump. I wish it would have been full frame, and I still don't understand how smaller pixel size can give you better noise reduction.

No. At least not the first year. I do not want to beta test ;-)a

Besides I want a 5D2 first and I don't have the money for both.

I will wait about a year -- As Tommy said, no reason to beta test!

I think Ill wait a bit, and see. I would hope that Canon would be extra carefull to do all the testing prior to release exspecialy after the last go around with the Mark III. Beside I really want a 400 2.8 first. maybe a backup Mark III. I have a really lightly used M2N that I would like to repalce with the more familar now, controls of the Mark III.

Same here. My MkII and MkIIn do just fine, but I still want a MkIII.

If the high ISO performance is markedly better than the MkIII, I'll probably get one next summer. If not, I'll be getting a nice used MkIII later this winter! :)

I've been pre-ordered for the new body for months now - and I see no reason to cancel

As soon as I can find the money for both it an a 300/2.8, I'll be getting one. 300/2.8 comes first though. Anyone want to buy a kidney?
