Changing Owners Name in existing image files

Just to get down things, what if you never created an OwnerName? I checked a jpeg created by LR and couldn't find an OwnerName field...?

I believe OwnerName is under the Canon Maker Note in the EXIF data (i.e. it is Canon specific) but it appears as though LR uses it to populate some of the metadata fields like EXIF:Artist and Contact:Creator. If the EXIF Artist tag is set in the file then this would be used by LR instead for those two fields.

Not if the other developer was following the appropriate specifications .
