anyone own the 70-200 IS? Is there a sweet spot? I'm shootin this thing WIDE OPEN and IS on all the time.. any feedback

I've got that lens as well, and don't hesitate to shoot at F2.8. It'll still be sharper than most consumer lenses at F8 (in my experience). I often do stop down a tad for shooting at close range though, as DOF is very thin for a portrait taken at about 12ft away. Aaron

I only use it when absolutely necessary. Then again, I am rather proud of my steady hand!
