I have a chance to buy one for $1563 after bing cashback.

I'm debating whether or not to hold off for a better deal.

I mainly want a 7D for faster AF and better ISO. Above ISO 400 my XSi is pretty terrible even when properly exposed.

Good deal. Which vendor?
I'm in the same boat with an XTi and am looking at the 7D or a pre-owned 1D MkIII.

Not sure what you'd like us to say here. Tell you to do it? Tell you not to? :D

I paid the MSRP. I think it's worth every penny. If $1563 is still too much for you to stomach, then you'll have to wait at least 3-6 more months to buy used for that price. Or until Canon puts out some additional rebates, or until the 7d2 comes out. Long time to wait but if you don't need to switch bodies, then that's $1563 saved.

Can't really help you with your decision, but a word of advice... if you fall off the fence, make sure both legs are on the same side. ;)
