This was taken from several hundred feet. It was quite a site seeing and hearing them fly into this field for a few hours, then off they go. There were maybe a thousand or so. Going back in 3-4 weeks. Should be up to 20,000 by then. They gather in this area on their migration south for the winter. Added one: materialism ~

Last year J-P was my first stop after getting my new 40D and 70-200 2.8. It was a great day! Now I'm hoping to make it back with my new 1Ds II and my wife's 100-400 this year.
