The composition looks fine,. What lens are you using? It almost looks a little convexed in the lower corner?

Yea, it's definitely too much yellow. Look at the blinds on the left or fireplace on the right. I assume those are supposed to be white. Base your WB on those. As it is, they are both very yellow. I understand there's going to be some color cast, but it's still controllable.

Maybe not so much a photography tip but if you're trying to "sell" the room, it would be a good idea to remove the clutter. Boxes on the left, Fram Oil Filter on the end table, etc...

noted.

this room is not for sale  its my basement, i wasnt sure of how to compose pictures and took a test shot. I'm currently looking for either a model home, or someone with a very nice home for me to photograph. for some real samples.

no, the walls, amongst many things in the room are yellow, including the carpet (which natrually has a beige, yellow-ish hue), i will try to go back and fix it a bit when i get home.

IMO, the shadows on top left corner need some enhancement!

the mouldings/baseboards look white. and, the mantle looks fairly white, too. the ceiling isnt white. the lighting looks incandescent, as anticipated. i dont see a problem.

i would think the most important thing is to have your WB set to a custom setting in almost every environment you are in.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.
