The subject and overall image appears a little yellow but then I don't know the species. A lower angle with a full view of the bird would help..Squared images work for flowers but for birds they don't usually work too well. The image also appears soft so a tripod could help..

When asking for critique it would help to give some data ( shutter speed, F stop , ISO, light conditions,) and eqquipment as well ( there are limitations on what can be achieved with equipment used) ..Hope this helps..keep shooting!!

I agree about posting the shooting data if you're looking for a serious critique (even though this section is not the critique forum).

I do not know this species of bird either so I don't know what it looks like in real life. I brought it into CS3 and did a round of sharpening and used the shadow/highlight tool and brought out some details in the blacks and shadows. I think with some minor PS work this image could be improved.

Are you sharpening before resizing the image?

Great advice... It does look yellow - now that I am seeing it on a different computer. =] Either way, tonight when I get home I will provide you the info. Thanks again.
