So you do changes, and then it shows up in the Publish collection as modified, and then you press the Publish command in the menu? I'll have to try that. I hadn't noticed the links changing.

Yes. this is exactly what I am doing. It is the same as "Replace" option in flickr.

I am not sure how to cancel re-publish option.

What exactly does it mean that the beta will expire when the program is released...? Haha

Something I would like to see in LR3 - I have import presets and when I import they then all show as adjusted.

Can there be another symbol so you can tell which ones I have done manual adjustments to after the import?

I mark those with a felt-tipped pen:)!

Seriously, not that I know of automatically. If you use stars or colors to "mark" them that should do the trick.

Yes, but my point is to have LR3 do it automatically just like it does for those on import.

Right -- as far as I know it doesn't do that. I don't know much, though, so others might chime in!

How will they work that out, though...?

Oh, and here's an edit I did using LR3 beta... I don't like this too much, but it was mainly to test out the program...

Basically, they have a date embedded into the beta code. When that date comes, LR pops up a message saying this beta has expired. Either download the new beta (if there is one) or migrate to final (paid) version.

As this is a beta, there is no guarantee your edits or catalog will be transferable to a new version.

BTW, for anyone interested I went to a quad core last weekend it's made quite the difference in LR 2.5 and the BETA (although I found the BETA to be much faster than Lr 2.5 on my old duo core).

There's a filter - if you go to the Metadata filters and find, erm, it's something like 'Develop Settings' (not at my main machine right now). It'll give a list of presets you've used, default settings, and there will be 'custom' which is ones you've adjustment manually.

Just discovered today that the catalog is a sqLite database. Interesting to browse ;)

I've been using ACR/PhotoShop CS3 for my workflow for a while now. I've been using ACR/PS3 long enough to learn what my 95% workflow is - what I typically do and what I rarely do. With this LR3 beta, I decided to install it and try LR. I do believe I can now do all my workflow in LR! I spent a day following some Adobe tutorials to walk through the main parts of LR and that bookstrapped me to the point where I can do the basics.

I look forward to learning more about LR! Hopefully by the time the beta expires, I'll buy LR3 and relegate PS3 to the "in case of emergency" department.

Which is why it won't do the "play nicely with networks" thing, apparently.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)
