Just ordered a used 50D with grip to replace one of these. I have 30D without a grip, with 8K clicks, and a xti with a grip and 8K clicks. For the life of me I can't figure out which one to sell. I like the 30D for it's h1, which comes in handy on dim football fields, gyms and cloudy days, and would be nice to have settings close to the same. But I love the grip, and with the new hacked xti pushed modes the iso 3200 and spot metering seems to be getting me as good of results as the 30D. I hate having to make decisions.

Why get rid of any :)

I'd get rid of the 30d, personally.

None ... convert the 30D to IR and plan with a new genre of photography ...

i'd get rid of the 30D as well. The 50D far surpasses the 30 and as it's basically the same body type. The 400 being much smaller and with almost identical image quality gives you one camera for the bulk of your shooting (50D) and then when your looking for something smaller and mor portable you have the 400.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

The 30D will fetch a little more, I think also. Only bad thing, is my wife loves the 30d, so if I sell it, she will most likely claim the 50D and I'll never get to use it. I really need to sell them both, pick up a 2nd 50d, a 5d, or a 7d. ;-)a

I'm not familiar with the controls on the XTi, but I would imagine that the 30D and 50D are more similar, if that makes a difference to you. In the heat of battle, not needing to remember which body you're using could come in handy.
