About an hour before my shift at work ended. A co-worker called me outside to this bird sitting on our radio antenna. When I got outside and looked up all I saw was this massive bird on the antenna. I assembled my 40D with the sigma 70-200 with 2x and took some shots.
Got a few decent shots.

Then yesterday I was driving around by the Oradell resevoir to see if I could try and spot the infamous Bald Eagle that is seen from time to time.
Well I there were dam gulls feeding in the water then some other bird I have no idea what it was. But then out of knowhere came what I think is a golden eagle.

Thanks guys. I had a strong feeling the first was going to be a peregrin falcon cause of the color of the head and pattern of the feathers. I had photographed one about 3 years ago perched on a branch on the palisades.

and wow a juvenile bald eagle!! So my day got even better. When do they get there signature white heads and legs?

Sexual maturity for Bald Eagles is 5 years old. This is when their head feathers turn white and their beak is yellow.
