Hi

Just a heads-up for UK people that Jessops are currently doing 10% cashback via Quidco. Don't recall seeing it this high before, so might be work checking out before it drops back to the usual 3-4%

(cashback usually take 2-3 months - and I've never had any problems with Quidco)

Cheers
Pete

The way I read it is that the additional 5% cashback with the QUIDCOFIVE code does not apply to DSLRs but the basic 10% Quidco cash back applies to everything. I know this is going back a couple of years and things might have changed, but I bought my 40D from Jessops in September 2007 and got Quidco paid back then. I also got Quidco cash back on my 1D3 from Jessops last December. Don't hold me to this but it's my guess the 10% will work just fine.

BTW, I have also been considering a 5D2 over the past few days and looking at prices around £1690 from Digital Rev or £1770 from RGB. If the 10% pays off this will be ~£1689 after cash back for UK stock. I have just placed my order :)

That said, I will contact Kerso to see if he can do any better on the price and, if he can offer worthwhile savings I shall cancel my Jessops order and go with him, but for now I wanted to get this deal in the bag before it vanishes.

Thanks for the heads up on this :)

EDIT : Quidco has tracked and validated already.

That's right, it's only the QUIDCOFIVE voucher code that doesn't apply to DSLR's and lenses - the 10% cashback applies to anything (I wish it was 10% when I bought my last camera - I only got £40 back on a £1535 spend!

(ah, just seen your next post... you've already confirmed this :-) - nice saving there on the 5DMKII!)

Seem to recall my cashback took around 3 months to be paid.

I check there every day just in case something interesting pops up. Jessops is only £20 dearer for the 5D2 than the cheapest suppllier listed. With £160 in cash back that makes them cheapest by £140 and well worth a look. Of course, their prices on many things are daylight robbery, but the 5D2 is very well priced with this cash back. I consider myself a shrewd shopper and always look for bargains. I own four DSLRs at the moment, of which three were supplied by Jessops. This will be my fourth from them. The 50D came from Hong Kong.

I'm guessing the 10% cash back is a temporary offer during the 10 days of deals to celibrate 10 years of jessops.com. The "party" ends on Monday at midnight. It might be a wise precaution to complete the deal this weekend, before the cash back drops to the more usual 3-4%.
