So i was about to order the 85L at Adorama, just needed to click "place order" when i received an email from ebay (got outbid on some triggers) and i see the 85L II listed for $1869 free shipping. + I get 8% cashback wich seems to be the best deal around for this lens.
I've never bought lenses from ebay so i'm a little hesitant.
seller: 17th Street Photo (there's a few others at same price)

I'm using my phone so i can't post any links.

Should i pull the trigger or continue with adorama??
thanks in advance.

You had better check resellerratings.com on 17th street - I think I looked at them before and did not read anything good.

Just checked my amazons order history. apparently i've purchased a couple vivitar 285s from them, wich if i remember correctly- arrived within a week in good condition.
Would it be a different experience buying through ebay?

i'm already spending $1800+ so saving a few bucks might not be worth the peace of mind.

They have a 9.73 lifetime rating on resellerratings.com, so they're probably safe. I'd go for it, 8% of $1869 is about $150. Just pay with your credit card through Paypal so you can have the card company support you in the event that they don't live up to the rating.

Timeless - Keep us posted on your results. I'm tempted to get one myself.

First three Canon 5Ds. Some lights (some really fancy ones too). Some glass (maybe a few too many but who's keeping track?). Some cool stamps on my passport.
