I managed to be able to watch the practice runs this morning and afternoon and got plenty of shots... now whether or not they're good shots is up to you guys.

Here is what I've processed so far.

I love the last one, seems a bit underexposed though.

Why is there two #7 planes in the last picture? Is this one frame or is this been sandwiched together? Great pictures.

Yes unfortunately they are all back lit. The ramp is on the east side of the airport and they practiced in the afternoon when the sun was setting to the west.

I got pretty lucky with the last one. Thanks!

Thanks. Yes there were two number 7s. Both are two seaters. Not sure why though.

I'm jealous. Can we trade? What airplane do you fly? I've been in the pool for the right seat program for a year now. I started out in the high 90's on the list and eventually worked my way down to #28. It used to be first come first serve until I guess too many people were applying due to the industry being the way that is, and now they look at each application individually. While I'm happy to still have a flying job, assistant chief instructor for a 141 school, I need a break from pistons every now and again to keep me sane. :)

If you get a chance, drop by the TSTC booth and say hey. I'll be there promoting my flight school. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to fly in (avoid the ridiculous parking) and get paid to go to an airshow. I'll be right next to the KC-135 in front of a DA20-C1. We were hoping to bring our new Arrow with Avidyne avionics, but unfortunately it didn't get out of maintenance in time.

Here are some shots of one of the two #7s. These guys took off earlier in the day which provided for some better lighting...

Great shots!

The Blue Angels were here in San Diego a couple of weeks ago and gave rides to two people during the Friday show, my husband being one of them (yes, he's quite a lucky guy!). The #7s are the ones they use for that since they are two-seaters, so we had both number 7s flying here too.

Fantastic shots, and you did a great job considering the backlight.
