I am new here and have always liked to snap pics but I would like to learn a little more. I just picked up the Powershot SX20 IS so there are a few things to learn as I have a few options now. I have been lurking and reading some of the newb articles and there is some great info out there.

I guess now I am looking for some tips with the SX20. Anyone out there have anything to offer regarding these or the SX10? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome.

Never used the SX20, so I can't comment on that camera specifically.

However, if you're looking to learn the basics photography in general (in a way that will apply to any camera) you should check out Ben's Newbie Guide...it's a great read for someone starting out!

Heh! Right you are:)! When someone resurrects an old thread like that I often don't remember to check the original date!

Ha - it's a common trap Tony.

The only reason I was clued on was because it appeared in my Subscribed Threads list, and I thought; "when the hell did I subscribe to that?!?"...

Heh! Hey, you were a valuable contributor, back 2+ years ago!

It reminds me of a thread that popped up a couple days ago from '08 -- not only had I made a contribution but someone poked fun at me as well, and the revival of the thread referred to that:)!
