All in all, this took me just over an hour to do, but it was good fun!

I'm soon going to be charging for this optional service, but how much should I be charging? Basically, I'm charging a redeemable £1 for a quick photoshoot, £2 for airbrushing, £3.50 for a 4x6" print, £6.50 for a 6x9" print, and £12.50 for a 12x18" poster, with all profit being split between my school and a charity. I was looking at £3.50 for creating a caricature, but now I'm feeling that it might be a little bit too cheap.

What do you think?

Also, any C&C on the caricature/shot much appreciated!

You plan on charging people to make them look like crap in photos?.

The ONLY way you can charge people for characture portraits is if you do them in paint, oils, charcoals etc.

To simply twist their face on a computer is a rip off and insulting.

THAT took you an hour to do?

Please feel free to tell me what you dont like about my images. That is how i learn.

It's a bit more than twisting their face, and it's not about making them 'look like crap' at all.

Yeah, it took me an hour - I spent a good deal of time using the dodge and burn tools to make it look as real and 3D as possible; I didn't want to just mindlessly warp things. People charge for airbrushing and other PP effects, so why not this? It might not be paint, oils, or charcoal, but it's still digital art, and it still takes time, effort and thought. I'm 16, and I know a lot of boys and a couple of girls in my year who'd like this kind of thing done - it's different, and it's a bit of fun, and I personally think that paying anything less than £5 is well worth it - besides, it's not for my personal gain anyway. I also don't know of anyone else in my school who can do this without making it look like a thoughtless mess, so it's not as though they could do it themselves. I really don't see your problem with it...

Well, if people *want* it, then sure, but I don't really see the attraction...

How do you know those methods are the ONLY ways that people will pay for this service?? Have you tried for yourself or have any statistics on this?? I for one think it's pretty cool and unique and seeming that all the profit will go to his school and a charity, he may get more people to do this than you think.

Jack - the caricature looks great man, crazy it appears the hair was not morphed at all, lol, kids these days!

I think you've made quite a decent effort at caricaturing yourself (if it is you), nice PP work.

I'm sure you'll get some people to buy them but most people who do buy these sort of portraits like to sit there and have them done there and then don't they?
Best of luck though, it's certainly a service I haven't seen before so you might corner the market :D

IMO i much rather use a fisheye lense to warp peoples faces....looks neater and its easier.

It's impossible to get the effect the OP has produced with a fisheye.
