hi Deb! have fun on your playdate.

Well, there's the alarm to tell me to get up and get dressed. I beat it by three hours. Maybe I can vacuum before I go. I hate waiting til the world gets up to do my chores. by then I am ready for bed again!

Have a lovely day, everyone.

Thanks darling you too :)

Good morning everyone. Gonna be another long day for me. :( I hate these long days.

Happy B-Day Jennifer.

You call that a failed experiment? That's totally freaking awesome!

Thanx, but it wasn't what I was looking for. An hour of laying on the cold ground snapping at falling leaves and I just could not get the framing I was looking for.

It's not that I mind hard work, I'm use to it, but with our workforce being so distributed across the globe, the day never ends. Last night I did not get to sleep until after midnight and by 4:00am I was already back on the phone. I'll nap later in the afternoon but a solid 7 hours of interupted sleep would be so nice.

G'MAE, all. usually working by now, but off to the dentist again to replace the two temp crowns I swallowed in my sleep friday night.

YAck. I've lost a permanent crown before, but never swallowed one in my sleep. that doesn't sound pleasant.

I understand that. It can be very challenging when you're relying on something as unpredictable as nature.

Yeah. You needed to make the white background go bye bye.

JWright wrote in post #8942944 (external link)
That^^^ Cut out the white background and apply the drop shadow to the image. Create a new layer and fill it with the appropriate shade of grey so it will blend into the POTN background and make sure the layer with the image and shadow is on top.

You can get POTN grey by taking a screen shot of the page, opening it in Photoshop and using the dropper to click on it... Or you can go to the color picker and entering 211, 214, 221 in the RGB boxes respectively or d3d6dd in the block marked with #...

Thanks guys, have bookmarked this, and will have a go later.

I just think I'm gaining weight because of all the crappy food.

I could not imagine not having a proper stove and over for more then a couple days, crappy food does make for easy weight gain.

Hi, G'MAE, salutations!

OK, it's been a few weeks.... But, as promised, I'm starting up the James Bovine series again. But since it's been so long, I did up a small primer so as to refresh your memories.

Wednesday, we'll start up fresh in a new chapter.

Great refresher, looking forward to tomorrow.

If I didn't have any dogs now, I'd have want that St. Bernard. She's so cute.

Dan didn't want a large dog (the havoc wrought on the house) but I truly don't think any dog could wreak more havoc AND do it with more energy than Kona.

I read once that St Bernards are rated as a great apartment dog as they are naturally lackadaisical. I would think if they were only paper trained it might be quite a problem though. :p

Even though Layla cost us almost $1000.00, her adoption fee was still $100.
Sophie cost us about $500 after all her vet bills, and we still wouldn't imagine charging more than our usual $100 fee.

I don't understand the rescues that normally charge between $100-$200 for an adoption fee, then to jack it up to $600 for a certain dog.

If they can get it, then I think that is great. It might allow them to take less for a much harder to place dog.

potato thoughts:

We make potato skins fairly regularly.

Bake whole potatoes.
When done, cut in half, and scoop most of the innards out of each half.

Place halves on cookie sheet, and fill with cheese, crumbled cooked bacon, and green onions. Oh, and lots of cheese.

Did I mention the cheese?

While those are baking in the oven, take all the innards, and mash them with a fork. Add all the leftover bacon and green onions from the skins, and mix well. Oh, and put in some cheese.
Maybe a lot of cheese.
And a little butter.
And maybe some sour cream. Could use some salt and pepper too.

Bake the skins till nice and crispy.

Serve the innards like mashed taters.

HOLY YUM.

We used to make those all the time, but not for ages now.
We need to do them up again, easy, yummy and everyone loves them. :D

Yep, cold is always much more bearable if sunny, and not too windy too.
