Does anyone else have trouble leaving their dog at the kennel/sitters when going on a vacation? We are going away for a week around xmas and have to leave the dogs behind. I soooooo hate the thought of being away from my Cricket. Am I really weird?

I always hated that on the few ocasions we did. We were always able to leave Jinx with family so it wasn't bad.

Yes, you are weird. But what does that have to do with not wanting to be apart from your pup? :p

:p I was just wondering if anyone else was that "attached" to their doggies. I just hate leaving her anywhere.

Yes, you're really weird. Really, really weird, in fact.

But missing your dog and not wanting to leave her is actually quite normal. :D :p

Why yes, yes you are. But, I am willing to bet you already knew it.

I do understand your apprehension, I have never had to use a kennel always having friends and family willing to dogsit. If you choose a good place (and find one real soon before they get booked up) the dogs will be just fine. When you get back after having a fun time, they will be so glad to see you, and it will be back to just as it was before. Dogs are very resilient, more so then most owners. ;) :D

Yeah, hubby has this place he takes his dogs. A dog sitter person. But, she keeps them outdoors in a kennel. I don't want Cricket to be outdoors in December. Brrrrrr. So, I guess I'll be taking her to the Vet here that also kennels dogs. At least she will be inside where it is warm.
