I spent the afternoon at the range yesterday and came home with a couple surprises that I just had to share. Rented a HK USPc in 9mm (which I now plan on buying when I find some funds ;)) and shot my friend's 1911 with a .22lr conversion.

Both shots taken with my 50 1.4. ISO800, f/1.8, 1/125s

How are you timing when to trip the shutter?
I'd love to see a little more depth of field...

I set the camera for continuous shooting and just hoped for the best. Luck was on my side yesterday. I would've liked more depth of field too, but it wasn't the best lit place and I didn't want to lose too much of the burst fps. Those were 2 out of about 400 shots, although admittedly a lot of them were also "wasted" shots of nothing interesting. I had also tried at a couple other ranges prior to this trip with not much to show, so I'm quite pleased with what I did get this time around. :)

I would've liked more dof too. But it is interesting to see these type of shots. Good job!
