I'm thinking of purchasing a 300 2.8 non-IS and I know Canon doesn't service it anymore. Where's the best place to get a lens serviced that Canon doesn't do anymore?

It's not worth the headache. If you can't afford the 2.8 then get the 300mm f4 get that one until you can afford the 2.8.
