I searched audio and 7d and couldn't really find the specs.

If you have the camera on the tripod or are not using the cameras controls much, you can probably get away with the internal microphone. But if you use the focus ring or zoom ring on your lens, the camera picks up that noise. What is the interface for external mics? Standard 3.5mm jack Does the sound record as wav right to the card?
