:p

Just browsing the picture sharing forums, as always.....and in the past 3-4 weeks, I have seen enough "7D ______ pics" titles to make me want to vom. Don't get me wrong.....I think the 7D is an awesome camera, and I'd love to have one. But to see 20+ threads with "7D" in the title.....and to top that off, with pics I could have captured 4 years ago with me 300D.....I think someone needs to tap some of these people on the shoulder and let them know.

- rant off. ;)

Give the folks a break - they're still on their honeymoon. :)

The fact that it's not a drastic improvement in IQ is why I went for a 2nd 1D II @ half the price. Sure it's heavier and the batteries don't last as long but at least I won't have to learn a new body. :D

Yep I'm sick of the 7D threads as well, but I'm happy for all the 7D owners and the pleasure there getting out of their new cameras. I remember when I first got my 5DMKII I used to get excited everytime I saw a thread title with it in it!!!

^ Very nice pic above

Cheers,

If we didn't have new bodies and the new threads that draft along with them, this forum would become pretty boring. I don't think we'll see significant IQ improvment in any body for quite some time. It seems that it's all about features now.

Let the new 7D owners have their moment... you have to remember photographers love the gear as much as taking pictures!

This is nothing new. This happens with every new body and most new lenses. It will die down on its own.

That's tough to discern from posted shots. Maybe some of those shots are cropped to all hell, or maybe pulled from an 8 fps burst. The IQ may be no better than a shot from the 300D, but getting the shot to begin with may have been difficult. Just playing devil's advocate here! ;)

I know the difference between 10mp and 15mp can be pretty negligible until you go to print. It stands to reason that the IQ between 8mp and 18mp is pretty hard to discern on a pc screen depending on the quality of the glass used in each... .
