Does anybody know if the Canon 1Ds II softwares most recent listings works with 64bit Windows 7 ?

I have looked on the Canon site and of course Vista is the last OS listed with their download drivers. Some, looks like not all 64 bit Vista stuff methinks is there.

I don't believe the firewire driver is 64 bit either

Can the Canon software run 32 bit on Windows WOW in a 64 bit OS?

Maybe you have to stay with a Windows 7 32 bit OS using Canons Vista 32 bit drivers?

Any experience or comments appreciated.:)

I cannot speak for the Canon 1Ds II's software, but in principle Windows 7 x64 supports the Software versions for Vista x64. If it is Vista compliant things will work fine. The only x64 bit challenge is the RAW codec to the RAW files in Explorer.

On my system this works well: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=765462

I am currently running Canon (50D) 32 bit software in 64 bit Vista.

Most tech sites report that if a driver or software runs in Vista it will run in Windows 7, 32 or 64 bit. If you want to double check it, download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from Microsoft and run it while the camera is attached (and on) to the computer.

Windows 7 will run everything except for the Firewire Driver. Canon don't make a 64bit driver and won't as the camera is discontinued. You can't use Firewire on the 1D series under Vista 64bit either.

However if you get Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate then you get windows XP compatibility mode which you can run in 32bit mode and use the Firewire.

I've the same problem! When I plug the camera to the pc withe the fireware cable it's recognized by Win7 but DPP, Canon Utility etc don't see it.
In the control panel the 1ds is visible but it need driver.
What can I do?
How have you solved?
I need to change the owner name and modify some personal function (for examble enable the displayzoom)

Only if your Win7 version is 32-bit. XP Compatability doesn't allow you to run 32-bit drivers on a 64-bit OS. XP Compatability mode is simply for running programs which may otherwise cause problems under Win7 in a special mode which may allow them to work - they may not though.
