Ok, I finally got a job, so I have time to dedicate towards creating a website that I would like to use quasi professionally- if you will, on the side, and for a quasi personal site.

I suppose I would make the whole thing, except for the blog, on Smugmug, but I shot with OSU's student paper last year and thus, have a boat load of material that can't be sold (I guess I should ask if you can choose the option to have pictures up, but not for sale on a pro account on Smugmug), such as many sports, college and pros, and concerts of famous rock bands. I would have those pictures on my "main" site just for the viewers pleasure (along with arbitrary personal photos and in the future, a portfolio of clients).

However, what does the board think about a site, of my doing, except for the store (which would be a link to a third party store) and a blog page? Am I doing too much? Not enough? I would like to have a site that shows many pictures for fun, including a PJ portfolio, but also have a store where I can sell pictures of landscapes and such and photos taken for clients that they could log in and buy. I'm not looking to be full time, but rather something on the side, but done to be professional. (One reason I want to do this is because in a few years I want to get an MBA - not for any photography businesses - and I would like to use this to show an entrepreneurial spirit, with e-commerce on my application.)

So, in short: the homepage, about me, PJ/personal/professional galleries, services, and contact page would be on the main website I create, with the store galleries on a third party site, and the blog on a third party site.

I put this on this forum instead of the business because I'm asking more for a design/development standpoint, than a business one - but both are welcome.

And one more thing, isn't Smugmug customizable enough to appear the same as the rest of the site?

Thanks!

Christian
