Bring the most versatile you can within your weight/luggage constraints. Even in Sydney there's a lot to see and photograph, and if you don't come that often, don't let yourself wish you had brought good gear. Same as I do when I go anywhere. Am...

Cheers advaitin.

Don't really fancy buying another camera though just for a trip. If I take the 20D it'll only have the one lens on so susceptibilty to dust will be minimal.

Thanks
Rob

We're not that different to the rest of the world really. We do have a few problems though but
the power's on, phone's are connected, we drive cars (even export some to the US, and other parts of the world).

Trying to keep liquids in uncovered containers is a bit tricky.
Because of the "Down Under" thing everything's upside down - that does tend to cause a few problems but you learn to live with it.
Nothing major - just stuff like all the rivers run upstream, things roll uphill instead of downhill stuff like that. Everything's just the opposite to the northern hemisphere.

You're better off with a p&s because DSLR's don't work too well down here and they cause all sorts of problems with the wildlife. Something about being too close to Antarctica and the magnetic fields from the South Pole.
Also the dropbears and trouser snakes go nuts because of the EMR's from DSLR's so best to leave the 20D at home.

The scariest thing though is that cell phones turn kangaroos and koalas into vicious people killers. How we've managed to keep that out of the papers no-one knows.

Then there's the Bogans. They are really dangerous creatures - you never know what they'll do.

Hope you enjoy your trip and get out alive.

Hahahahaha - Maybe not Elizabeth, but he did say Sydney so he could end up at Redfern.

Of the two I'd take Elizabeth.

Tamron 17-50mm will mount on any EF mount, including the 5D, but the image circle is made for a smaller sensor on the 20D. Therefore, on the 5D, it will vignette quiet a bit. A full frame version of the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8, which would also work well for weddings.
