Cool shot Freddy.

Question: did you want the motion blur of the ball and bat or was that by accident?

I was shooting AV 4.0, so, I guess it was a side -effect !! (wasn't so worried on "freezing" the ball )

I wouldn't call it a side-effect.... that motion blur gives the photo a sense on action.

Sure it does... I had a fixed aperture, and 400 ISO, so I knew I was getting not-so-fast shutter speeds ( as oppossed to shooting at ISO 800); from previous experience I knew that 1/500 or so, gives you blurry bats & balls...it was a side effect, but an expected one, if you know what I mean.
Check out this other one..

At first I was thinking freezing the ball and the bat would be a better shot but the intense look on his face is the main subject of the photo.

...or am I all wet? :-) :-)

what you should do is sign that guy up to do a dental advertisement. Teeth straight and white just as they should be LOL

Second one is better. Less extra area, motion is implied and bg is more out of focus which is good. And there's good expression.
