In other words for the 5DII to win the competition, its lens has to be > 1.36x higher in detail resolution to end up with same detail resolution on the final print.
And when that will happen?

Wilt, are you suggesting that, Fuji manufactured Hasselblad lenses are better than, IQ wise, canon L glass? I can't find MTF charts on Hassy lenses. so that performance difference is due to the sensors If you're saying that bigger sensors, assuming equal technology, are better than smaller sensors...cannot debate that premise. The things you do for yourself die with you, the things you do for others live forever.

Nope I am not insinuating superiority either way, I merely explained the science behind determination of which is better. It is foolish to try to directly compare manufacturer MTF charts, as standardization of such testing is not well established. It would be somewhat meaningful for a single testing agency to have done the measurement in trying to compare MTF. You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Fuji makes some darned good glass, and always have. I have had some of their large format lenses, and they made a superb medium format camera that got little play in the US (although Marco Klinko uses it with a digital back). I suspect Fujinons match Canon L lenses with little trouble...and then have a larger format to work with. TANSTAAFL--The Only Unbreakable Rule in Photography
