Canon 7d & RAW format

I'm new here and just purchased the Canon 7d 10 days ago. I gave my wife my 40d.

I can not download RAW files on my Apple MacBook. What did Canon do to change the format? Now I have to wait for a update from Apple as a CS person from Apple told me that RAW files are downloaded thru the OS not the program I store the files in.

Operating systems take some time to update their software to account for the new file types. Windows is the same way, but I can still DL themWhat's weird is I get jarbled previews on full size RAW files, but mRAW and sRAW files are fine. You are going to have to shoot in Jpeg for the time being if you don't have another comp.

Apple's central library for RAW has not been updated with the 7D RAW (thus neithe iPhoto nor Aperture will recognise it). You'll have to wait, or use Digital Professional Pro.

thats the reason most people are using DPP. either that or use the beta ACR.

i think RAW Photo Processor for MAC can process...i read its pretty good too.

It is not a change to the file format. RAW files contain the raw sensor data and that is going to be different for every sensor.
