I use a plug-in sharpener from Pixel Genius and sharpen using the ppi that I am going to print at. The amount of final "output" sharpening is dependent on the size of the print and its ppi, not the theoretical maximum dpi of the printer. Richard

Rich... when have I ever been anything but odd? Lowner wrote in post #8912335 I use a plug-in sharpener from Pixel Genius and sharpen using the ppi that I am going to print at. The amount of final "output" sharpening is dependent on the size of the print and its ppi, not the theoretical maximum dpi of the printer. That's a difference between Pixel Genius and NIK... The Nik Sharpener automatically senses the print size and calculates the average viewing distance. In rare cases the size can be entered manually. Chas P

You can see the size and resolution displayed in one corner of the UI. For printing, just like PG, the image will look uncomfortably "crunchy" on the screen, but will print beautifully. Chas P

Again-- It's pure coincidence that I happened to be searching for this exact same info recently. I was just guessing at the numbers to use in Sharpener Pro and was using the wrong print sharpening settings. I watched all the lessons and now Im watching the webinar archives and WOW!!! I was just introduced to the polarization filter in a webinar and Im blown away at how well it works! 2 x 5D III | 40D | Rokinon 14 2.8 | 35L | 50[B]L | 85IIL | 100 L |135L | 300 f4L | | 24-70L | | 70-200 2.8L II | 2XL |
