A client has asked about providing her with a slideshow in standard video-dvd format. I have attempted outputting to this format (I chose .ISO and viewed it on the PC) but have been dissatisfied with the results--the sharpness of the images in particular. I have tried full-sized versions of my photos and also 800px resized versions with output sharpening applied to them; I have turned the quality to the highest possible; I have tried using sharpening within proshow itself; and yet still, the results on my computer screen are extremely dull.

I understand that television resolution is different from that of a pc monitor (in most cases), but the results I am getting are really sub-par.

Does anyone have any experience getting good results outputting to DVD-video format in Proshow? and if so--how did you do it?

thanks!

I have a monitor that I thought was decent and went through the same issues you are having. But when I played the same DVD on my LCD HD TV it was amazing, very clear, the transitions were very smooth and the pictures looked incredible.

I would burn a DVD and try it in your DVD player on your TV. I think there was a huge difference between my PC monitor (and probably video card..) and my TV.

I use ProShow Producer version 4, and set the output to DVD HQ.

Good luck!

+1

Don't use the PC option if you plan on TV playback.
