no i forgot to shoot those while moving the truck and lights around. there was 2 580s shot bare at about 1/2 power. first pic one was parallel to the body at about the rear wheel. the second flash was behind me to the left aimed at the driver headlight. second pic one was at front fender parallel to body and second was behind me to the right pointed at the corner of the tailgate.

Depending on how thick the magnets are. You may be able to get really thin supermagnets.

I was thinking of foam 2 sided tape.

i was planning on thin refrigerator magnet tape, its like 1/8" thick.

I know how that goes. I jumped in with both feet and bought a couple of Alien Bees B1600's, and I pretty much have been Forrest Gumping my way to a method of what works for me. I haven't had a shoot with a knockout location like what you've had though...Man that's a great looking old barn.

And to stay on-topic here , I can't remember if I posted this one...

Basic setup (I was just using the two AB1600's, the other guy was using the speedlights you see):

The farm was a tricky location because it has existing old structures used for nothing that and were here n there and some newer pole barns that would have ruined the shot. The farm is literally across the street from where the truck is and the reason we used it because the truck only goes 35mph so we couldnt go far. So we walked over to the neighbors and asked to use the driveway and they were more than happy about it.

Just got 2 elinchrom 400w strobes and started playing...

IMAGE: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7107/7880740396_42c018ae6f_b.jpg

No setup shots but 1 strobe directly subject left, 1/2 power, perpendicular to the fender, with wide angle deflector and the other, camera right, 45* off car center with soft box, slightly more than 1/2 power.
