Two Canon 430ex pointing at the ground, trying to "light the side" of the car. Triggered with the new pocketwizards that have ETTL on them. Love them btw. One of my 430exs is the old one and has trouble firing off, but they give you this "sock" that helps with the interference.

Got to borrow a set of Elinchrom Quadra Ranger strobes from my school, and was super-stoked to try it out! Too bad they only bought 2x2m power wires, so for car photography i could only make use of one of the heads.

The A-head is on full power to the right, so is the Sigma 530 Super on the left.

The same setup also lit this image, but with a slightly different camera angle:

Just came across this thread, and hence no setup pics for this shot. One bare 580 EXII fired camera right @ 1/8th power.

I've been watching this thread forever and I finally took my car out for some quick shots at lunch and I forgot to take a setup shot! I just had my 430 EX sitting on the ground about 7 feet to the right of the rear wheel. I went a little crazy on the PP for this one, but I kinda like it. :)

Thanks! I must have moved that 430exii about 50 times, lol. I was just trying to use it for fill on the harsh light, couldn't get the right angle.
I have 3 b800's and cybersyncs, I just haven't gone out and tried to shoot my car with them yet. Today just seemed really nice out and I felt like shootin' some pics of my car because I recently got it back from the shop after some one backed into me. :)

Subscribed... :)
Wutzman, I really like your shots and your flashlight painting in particular.
Question... Do you recommend any particular flashlight type to use when trying to do this or will any work?

@i4dat
it was a normal 12 LED Flashlight for the Mini shoots . (the big Problem is the smoothness)

Today I had an idea and built part of this. i call this " Light scraper" ;)

Hello everyone. I have just recently picked up a manual flash. It's a Yongnou 560 II. Pretty awesome flash. I was considering getting a ttl flash by this will be for off camera work so it made more sense to get the more cost effective manual flash.

I just need some advice on it if anyone can help. I have googled the heel out of it but no luck. Am I correct in saying that with this particular flash the only control I have is with Light output intensity and zoom function? Power figures range from 1/1 up to 1/128 with some fine tuning in between. The zoom function ranges between i think 24mm and 105mm. What effect does changing the zoom function have on light output? Thanks in advance guys.

Jason
