I posted these in the 400mm f/5.6 thread under the lens section. I mostly use my "bigger" glass these days, but I took a quick trip down to Orlando recently and since I wasn't going to be able to devote a large amount of time to photography, I packed my 400mm f/5.6L and a few smaller lenses for the trip. These are some bird s that came out fairly well. While it won't ever take the place of my 500mm f/4L IS, it still gets used a lot for BIF, and works pretty well for those that aren't on wing too!

Florida is a heaven for bird photography. I wish I could have gone out for a longer time.

C&C is welcome as always.

Beautiful series -- every one of them is crisp and clear with lots of detail.

Stunning shots, all are wall hangers. That 400mm is tack sharp and in good hands. Great stuff Ed!

Really good collection. I'm going to be in Florida for several months this winter and can hardly wait to try for some of the birds down there!

Very nice series of shots Ed. Did you have to use Micro Adjust with that lens on the MkIII?

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the kind comments.

Mitch: Yes, I use micro Adjust for all of my lenses. I'm using LensAlign Pro to do the adjustments. As I recall, the 400mm was pretty close to neutral though.
