I haven't posted in a while, been very busy with yard stuff/leaves... There is absolutely no sunlight at all now in my yard when I get home from work... I was lucky to get a quick shot if this one... I heard all the cackling going on and we all know Jays can make a alot of noise... Got my trusted bean bag and shot a few... Not the greatest as light was diminishing fast.. Had to work it a bit to make it somewhat presentable..

On a sadder note, I found a White-throated Sparrow just about gone after work... I went in the house to get a box and when I returned, he was gone..:(:( Not sure what happened as it didn't look like it had been attacked, all feathers were in place but it's legs were stiff.... He tried to fly one last time and that was it... Had to give it a burial it deserved... It really bummed me out...

Nice pose Norman, I can see the noise, so I can imagine how dark it was. We have been getting heavy clouds here too, for the last week, and no end in sight, and it's headed your way. :(

Yeah, there is some noise in there, I didn't want to ruin it by over doing it... It certainly wasn't good for bird photography.... Not looking forward to the clouds (again) as it's either been cloudy or raining since I got my lens back... This will be the 3rd Sat. if it rains as they are forecasting it...

A nice shot and whatever you did with the light on the jay gives it a pretty effect... sorry about the sparrow, after spending days and years watching my White-throats feed chicks and fight for survival each day... it is always a sad note... I always wonder if the same ones return to my ridge in April.

The halo around the bird actually works fairly nicely here, Norm!

Thank you.. I just increased the light a bit on the bird and that was the end result.. The bird that died was a new bird to my yard too but I won't list as a new find...

Thank you, I could have eliminated it but thought it looked ok too.. Giving the bird a little light (as it was getting dark) creates the halo effect...
