The day I shot these photos, a friend and I found 4 copperheads (that is what we were there to photograph) lying along side a downed tree, covered in the leaf litter, that was also in direct sunlight. It was a little un-nerving, there were 4 venomous snakes, 2 of us, and only 2 snake hooks. So we ended up hooking the ones we weren't photographing, into our back packs only to contain them until we were ready for them. According to DNR in Indiana Copperheads are very common. You just have to know where to look. bigcountry wrote in post #8921778 i am also curious why you carelessly hooked and handled that black racer in brown co? why didn't you just pick it up? Venomous or not I am not one to free handle wild animals. I have nothing to prove! Jason

Yes you did ask about the Timber in Indiana......sorry brain fart! I have seen two timbers in Monroe, and Brown County of course on days where my camera was in the car. If you want to seen them in Indiana just do some road crusing in the evening on ridge top roads. Jason
